Bruce Poliquin, Maine State Treasurer (2011)

May 29, 2011 -- I stopped by Maine State Treasurer Bruce Poliquin's office in the Cross Building in Augusta to chat with him for a few minutes about what the job is about and what he's doing as treasurer.

"It is my contention that if anything were to go wrong, then ultimately, the taxpayers of Maine would be called upon to come to the rescue of the folks that bought our bonds, whether it be through these authorities, through Treasury…by the University system, or what have you. This is all part of our public debt…It's about $12.5 billion."
